So often, we've been in Europe and marveled at the way that the local women seem to navigate ancient cobblestone streets while wearing crazy high stilettos. Well, the mayor of Rome has noticed, too, and he wants to make it easier to walk around in the city while wearing high heels. Mayor Gianni Alemanno has announced a plan to re-stone some of the city's busiest and most famous streets, including Via del Corso, Via Petroselli, and Via del Teatro Marcello.
The plan is to set new cobblestones in a concrete base, which keeps them from being uneven. Keep this in mind when planning your next vacation.
